L-visas for single or multiple entry for tourists are valid for 30 to 60 days. BF-visas for business travel can be valid up to six months but may require the visitor to leave every 30 days. They are good for single, double or multiple entry. Those seeking business visas must obtain an official invitation from a government office or a company authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If your passports is expiry, it may be obtained at embassy of the country which you comes from. Most of embassies locate in Beijing, some consulates are in Shanghai or Guangzhou. In general, passports are available in two to three weeks following the completion of the paperwork. You will need the expiried passport and two identical photographs taken within six months o9f the date of your application, not smaller than 2.5x2.5 inches nor largers then 3x3 inches in size. Since passport photographs are used for other documents and licenses, we suggest you have from six to ten printed at one time. Passport photographs are acceptable in black and white or color. All citizens 13 years of age and older will need passports. Obtain a passport for each of your accompanying children. Visas, if required, must be obtained prior to leaving China. To obtain a visa in most instances, you will have to write(or visit) the consulate, complete the visa forms as specified and provide passport photographs. Before a visa is issued, you need a valid passport and, in most cases, proof of employment in the overseas country. Some countries may also require certificates of good reputation. When visiting or writing consulates, remember to allow sufficient time for them to issue the visa. Some can be issued in 48 hours, but others may up to two weeks to process.
